Species Available on d20MUD: Star Wars

Star wars has a massive universe, with species of every variety in each cantina you visit. These species differ greatly in their innate strengths and weaknesses as well as appearance. Here on d20MUD: Star Wars, we've implemented a large number of the species detailed in the Star Wars universe, both canon and legends lore.

When choosing a race, we highly recommend choosing something based more on interest than on stats. By the time your character to gets to level 40 and beyond, your character build will have a far greater influence on your success than your race's stats and abilities. And best of all, you don't need to worry about doing your build right from day one. We have a respec system that let's you redo all of your character choices except for race and gender.

We've divided our species up into 4 sections: Starter Species, Basic Species, Advanced Species and Inactive Species. New characters can choose among the starter species and the basic species.

Starter Species
The Star Wars universe is massive and has many, many species. We've implemented a large variety of those in 'Legends' lore, meaning they may or may not be canon to Star Wars. If you're new to the game, and don't know much about Star Wars, we recommend you choose one of the following 'Starter Species'. They're as good a choice as any other basic race, and will likely be recognizable by those who've only seen the movies.

Basic Species
Basic species are available to anyone no matter how long they've been playing the game, including brand new players. Though advanced species do have benefits, basic race characters can stand toe-to-toe with similar advanced species just fine with a well designed character build.

Advanced Species
Advanced species can only be unlocked by players who have earned in-game currency called account experience. Note that this obtained simply by playing the game in certain ways, such as, role playing and completing daily tasks. Advanced species usually have better starting stats than other species and occasionally special abilities. They are sometimes also reserved as an advanced race due to the rarity of the species.

Inactive Species
Inactive species are those that were once selectable in game, but have since been discontinued as choices for players. They remain in the game for existing characters who have selected these species.
