Arcona, sometimes singular Arconan, were scaleless reptiles with humanoid bodies. Hailing from the tropical desert planet of Cona in the Teke Ro system, they had poor eyesight, despite their large eyes, and had a small organ between their eyes which, often mistaken for their nose, helped them to see. An Arcona's lifespan was roughly the same as a Human's. The Arcona lived in a family based community, where the males took care of the young, as the females were generally reckless and thrill-seeking. Despite not being a particularly technological species, by the time the Galactic Empire rose to power Arcona could be seen in every corner of the galaxy. They were also notorious for their easy addiction to common salt.


The Arcona had flat, anvil-shaped heads, sharp claws, clear, marble-like eyes, and thick, protective skin that ranged in tone from olive to ebony. Cona, the native planet of the Arcona, was always hot, and had very little water. The atmosphere was filled with ammonia vapor. The Arcona adapted to this environment by eating the ammonia-converting roots of the complex flora of Cona as a source of water (the only water planet-wide). The Arcona depended on the ammonia to live and, as a result, Arcona living offworld had to take ammonia supplements or risk death.

Despite their bulbous eyes, the Arcona had very poor eyesight. Their eyes could not detect fine shapes as they were made up of thousands of tiny photoreceptors like to an insect; and so they only saw blurry objects. To aid their poor eyesight, the Arcona had a small diamond shaped sensory organ between their eyes. Often mistaken for their nose, this organ detected heat patterns from living beings. Thus, the Arcona could recognize someone or something by its heat pattern. Like many reptiles, the Arcona had olfactory organs located in their ever moving tongues. This helped them distinguish objects in their environment that they otherwise could not make out and also gave them a keen sense of smell.

Arkanians are bipedal humanoids with a near-Human appearance. Arkanian eyes have no visible iris or pupil, and are typically stark white in color. They possess four clawed digits, three fingers and a thumb.

Arkanians are arrogant and regard themselves superior to all other Species. Even those with a more moderate viewpoint still believe themselves to be among the more intelligent Species in the galaxy. As such, they prefer the company of fellow Arkanians.

Arkanian society and history are among the most complex in the Old Republic. At different times in its history, Arkanian has belonged to both the Republic and the Sith Empire, and played important roles in each. Knowledge and research are extremely important to the Arkanians, and they are highly skilled academicians and scientists. It is therefore not surprising that Arkania would become a main repository of the history of the Sith Empire, as well as home to vast libraries of information from across the galaxy.

Arkanians are not afraid to profit from their research and high intelligence. Arkanian corporations amass wealth by bringing key medical treatments and technology to the market at opportune times. Many in the galaxy find the Arkanians arrogant and aloof. They are horrified by the direction of some Arkanian research, particularly their work in genetic engineering. Indeed, the Arkanians are known to have transformed entire Species over the course of generations, often to the detriment of the Species.

Assassin droids are some of the most technologically advanced droids to be found. Made specifically to kill and capture, they rival and often surpass even the best organic species bounty hunters and assassins. The specifications for building
such droids are heavily protected, and they are far from a common sight. In fact, to see one at all is quite often your personal death sentence.

Battle Droids are the beasts of the droids. Designed with ample destructive capabilities droids such as the Trade Federation's B1 are a favorite when cheap and expendable soldiers are needed. Other notable droids in this class are the B2 super battle droids, Spider droids, D-60 assault droid, HKB-3, and of course a favorite wise cracking HK-47.

Advanced races such as the Battle Droid and Recon Droid cost account experience which can be earned by role playing your current character(s).

Bith were a peaceful, highly evolved craniopod species native to the planet Clak'dor VII. Fully adapted to a civilized, high-technology lifestyle, Bith were found galaxy-wide at all levels of society, most notably as engineers, scientists, intellectuals, consultants, and musicians.

Bothans are furry mammalian anthropoids, about 1.5 meters tall. Hailing from Bothawui and several colonies, Bothans differed in facial appearance and body structure with canine, feline, and equine features. They were known for being master politicians and spies, craving intrigue and subterfuge.

The Bothans have been members of the Galactic Republic from at least 4,000 BBY, but likely from a significantly earlier point. Through numerous conflicts, the Bothans remained officially neutral, although their famed Spynet always played each side and commercial interests sought profits.

Bothese was the name of the native language spoken by Bothans, where Botha was the written form.

The Caridan were a mammalian species of Carida. Average Caridans stood over two meters tall and possessed dense musculatures due to Carida's high gravity level. They spoke Caridan and most also spoke Basic. Caridan society was structured around a mercantile culture led by an active market and Caridan owned industrial firms. In fact, the Caridans were widely known for their appraisal and bartering skills. The Caridans cooperated with the Galactic Republic and later the Galactic Empire in the operation of the Academy of Carida. The Empire's xenophobia ignored the Caridans outside the Imperial compound, although tensions grew after the Battle of Yavin. Many Caridans vanished from the galaxy with the destruction of Carida at the hand of Kyp Durron. The few Caridans that survived were off-world as traders, New Republic operatives, or fringers. Notable Caridans included Imperial Ambassador Furgan of Carida.

Cereans were a sophisticated and cultured humanoid mammalian species hailing from the planet Cerea in the Mid Rim. They were famed for their extraordinary thinking abilities, made possible by large binary brains housed in tall tapering heads, enabling them to focus on many things at the same time. Aside from this unique feature, Cereans were physically similar to Humans, although they each possessed two hearts, which supplied extra blood circulation to support their brains.

Cereans were often found among the ranks of the Jedi Knights, but due to the species' low birth rates, Cerean Jedi were exempt from the Order's vow of non-attachment. One such Jedi, Ki-Adi-Mundi, served on the Jedi High Council during and prior to the outbreak of the Clone Wars.

The Chiss were a tall, blue-skinned Near-Human civilization from the planet Csilla in the Unknown Regions, best known to most Humans as the people to which Grand Admiral Thrawn belonged. Due to the remote position of their home territory in the Chiss Ascendancy they remained largely an enigma to the rest of the galaxy, and contact with outsiders was limited even in the days of the Galactic Alliance.

Clones were an army of identical, genetically-modified clones that were created during the clone wars. Grown at an accelerated rate, the clone troopers were trained throughout the first ten years of their lives to become one of the most efficient military forces in galactic history, and were bred for the sole purpose of combat.

During the reign of the Empire, many clones became Storm Troopers, and unknown to the galactic public, clones are still born and bred to serve in the Imperial Legions as Storm Troopers, Pilots and other military functions.

A cyborg was a cybernetic organism, that is, a living organic sentient organism with mechanical prostheses. Often covered in synthflesh/synthskin, these prostheses served one or more of three purposes:

1. Life support, often due to injuries sustained. Examples of this were Darth Vader, General Grievous, and Lumiya.

2. Prosthetic replacements for parts that were lost, though they may not be required for life itself. An example of this was the prosthetic hand used by Luke Skywalker, as well the mechanical arm used by Anakin Skywalker.

3. To enhance one's abilities, as in the case of Lobot. General Grievous's abilities were also significantly enhanced by his prostheses, though his main reason for becoming a cyborg was that he had sustained massive injuries
and would have died otherwise.

However, his four arms, each with its own lightsaber, did improve his swordsmanship beyond his native abilities.

Dashade were tall reptilians with dark skin, lamprey-like mouths, and powerful claws. In addition to their partial Force resistance, they were resistant to radiation. They also had an ability to dissipate heat, which made them hard to detect using standard life-form sensors.

Thanks to their Force immunity, Dashade warriors easily found employment as combat instructors for the Jedi and assassins for the Sith. They also used their natural abilities to their advantage as elite assassins, mercenaries, and among similar professions.

The Defel (colloquially known as Wraiths) were barely visible beings Native to the Outer Rim planet Af'El who appeared to most other species as shadows, re-enforcing the misconception that they were chameleon-like beings or "living shadows".

Defel were from Af'El, a large, high-gravity, seldom-visited world orbiting the ultraviolet supergiant Ka'Dedus. Since Af'El had no ozone layer, ultraviolet light passed freely to the surface, while other light wavelengths were mostly blocked by the heavy gases in the planet's atmosphere. Thus, all lifeforms on Af'El could see in ultraviolet light ranges, but were blinded by all but the dimmest light in other wavelengths. This is why Defels normally wore a visor when they left Af'El, and expected to be exposed to daylight at their destination. Compared to other species, they could see exceptionally well in the dark.

Dugs were an aggressive mammalian species native to the planet Malastare that used their upper limbs for locomotion and their lower limbs for grappling.

Dugs were slender, powerfully built beings with a somewhat humanoid build and a unique method of walking that hailed from the high gravity world Malastare. Their primary means of locomotion were their strong arms, and their lower limbs and feet were used for grappling and other fine motor manipulation. They hardly ever walked on their lower limbs. Sebulba was only once seen standing on his legs. Although most Dugs may walk on all four limbs, others liked to use their strong arms as legs and their feet as hands like they would normally do.

The Duros were a humanoid species native to the planet Duro who were among the galaxy's first space faring civilizations. Their homeworld was located on both the Corellian Trade Spine and at the end of the Duros Space Run, two major hyperspace routes that linked Duro with other important commercial centers. Biology and appearance

The Duros were humanoids with smooth blue-green skin, red eyes, lipless mouths, long thin noseless faces and green blood. Olfactory organs beneath their eyes were responsible for their sense of smell. Both females and males were bald, though both genders were easily distinguished. Their large red goggle-like eyes also had slit pupils. Duros females laid eggs as they are descended from ancient reptiles, and like the Neimoidians they were born in a larval grub stage, but unlike their cousins who left the raising of their young mainly to the state, the Duros took care of their offspring from birth.

Ewoks were sentient diminutive furry bipeds native to the forest moon of Endor. Ewoks were curious individuals that stood about one meter tall; they were omnivorous and used spears, slings, and knives as weapons; they also used hang gliders, battle wagons, and bordoks as vehicles. Although extremely skilled in forest survival and the construction of primitive technology like gliders and catapults, the Ewoks had yet to progress past stone-level technology when discovered by the Empire. They were quick learners, however, when exposed to advanced technology with simple mechanical processes and concepts.
Some Ewoks were removed from their planet and taken as pets or slaves. Others left voluntarily out of a sense of curiosity.

The Falleen were an exotic, cold-blooded reptilian species known to be long lived, with life spans averaging 250 years.

The sleek symmetry of their features, calculating and cold demeanors, their exotic looks, and their ability to alter their skin pigmentation meant that the Falleen were often considered to be among the most aesthetically pleasing beings in the galaxy. In addition to their strikingly beautiful appearance, the Falleen exuded pheromones which made them all but irresistible to both sexes, as evidenced when Quinlan Vos fell under the influence of a male Falleen's pheromones. They had small scales all over the r bodies, as well as slightly clawed fingers and toes. In addition, the Falleen displayed prominent facial and spinal ridges, though females tended to have slighter, more subtle growths.

The Falleen were semi-aquatic, and were able to hold their breath underwater for a long period of time, leading exobiologists to believe that the Falleen's ancestors were completely aquatic. The appearance of breasts and other mammalian characteristics. Falleen females and males have also led exobiologists to believe that Falleen had a mammal ancestor.

The Farghul were felinoid sapients indigenous to Farrfin. They had claws,
incredible strength and speed, and were covered with tawny fur and possessed
prehensile tails.
The species had a reputation for being both fearsome fighters as well as cunning
thieves. They became quite fearful of the Jedi Knights after the destruction of
a smuggling base on their homeworld during the times of the Galactic Republic.
The Farghul were also generally distrustful of politicians and were considered
slightly xenophobic. Despite this, they were known to friends as mischievous
and playful beings who loved telling bad jokes. Many Farghul were also known
to rig games. Their reputation for being cheaters, con artists, and thieves
originated from this; though, upon being caught, those Farghul would often
return their illicit winnings. However, this did not stop them from gaining
their bad reputation in the galaxy. Farghul were extremely self-conscious
about their appearance, and often wore elaborate clothes or jewelry.

The Fosh were bird-like creatures with slim torsos and delicate arms tipped with four-fingered, talon-like hands that evolved over tens of thousands of years from wings. Due to the frail nature of their bodies, Fosh tended to shy away from conflict and confrontation. Their necks in particular were most vulnerable, and were reflexively guarded during combat. They were, however, agile creatures with a typically avian digitigrade stance and flay-toed feet useful for jumping.

The Fosh had a convex face ending in a beak-like mouth, around which were tufts of soft whiskers. The head of the Fosh was capped with two twisting antennae, the use of which remains unknown, and a feather-lined ridge protruding from the skull. These feathers shifted color depending on the Fosh's mood: Green indicated inquisitiveness, thoughtfulness or amusement; orange was a sign of happiness; and gray was anger, disgust, irritation or seriousness.

One of the most intriguing aspects of the species was the chemical makeup of its tears. Female Fosh especially had lacrimal glands that enabled them to alter their tears to produce a variety of pheromonal substances that affected males during mating. The Sith apprentice Vergere had such a control over her tears that they could, with the aid of the Force, be engineered to produce any number of chemical substances ranging from poisons to healing fluids more powerful than bacta.

Gamorreans were porcine humanoids from the lush jungle Outer Rim planet of Gamorr where their technological level was equivalent to lower technology periods that Human civilizations experienced more than 25,000 years ago. They also colonized the planet Pzob in the K749 system and were the majority sentient species on Lanthrym in the Elrood sector. Their vessels provided only essential amenities as well as shields and weapons. Gamorreans were typically green-skinned with a large powerful physique, and were known to be fierce
warriors prized for their great strength and brutality in combat. They were organized into clans headed by a Council of Matrons. In Gamorrean society female sows perform all the productive work while the male boars concentrated on training for and fighting wars. They spoke Gamorrese (also called Gamorrean). One of their favorite weapons was a traditional war axe called an arg'garok that was forged specifically for beings of extraordinary strength and a low center of gravity.

The Givin were the indigenous sentient species of the planet Yag'Dhul. They were best known for their natural mathematical ability which made them expert starship builders and astrogators. Other notable features of the Givin were their skeletal appearance, and their ability to survive in a vacuum.

Givin appeared to be living humanoid skeletons, because of their hard, pale white "skin" and deep sunken black eyes. Though they had four- or five-fingered hands, they had three-toed feet. They carried their arms and legs "held out" from their bodies, making their appearance even more bizarre. Some likened their stance to Twi'lek string puppets.

Due to a complex system of moons that created atmospheric tidal upheavals on Yag'Dhul, the Givin evolved a hard exoskeleton that could seal all external orifices to protect against sudden depressurization and temperature changes. It also provided protection from physical harm. Thus, Givin had a phobia of exposed skin, and would avoid seeing it in others whenever possible. In order to maintain this sealed system, Givin needed to eat approximately three times more than Humans of the same mass. Givin could easily survive in a total vacuum for a standard day.

Gotals were a species of tall, hairy humanoid sentients native to the moon Antar 4. Their most distinctive features were the twin conical horns growing on the top of their heads, which acted as highly responsive electromagnetic sensors. These head cones were sensitive enough to pick up subtle changes in another being's electromagnetic emissions from emotional changes, making Gotals natural empaths. The unique nature of these sensors shaped Gotal culture, and helped individual Gotals carve niches in galactic society ranging from bounty hunters to diplomats, the former making a large use of thermite grenades.

Gotals were part of galactic society as far back as the early days of the Galactic Republic. During this time, Gotals served the Republic as Jedi and as Antarian Rangers. In the Republic's later years, however, their relations with other cultures became troubled. Conflicts such as the Duinuogwuin-Gotal conflict and the Separatist Crisis resulted in the Gotals taking the losing side in the Clone Wars. Distrusted by and distrusting of the Galactic Empire, the Gotals returned to the mainstream as part of the New Republic and later, the Galactic Federation of Free Alliances.

The Gran were sentient mammalian humanoids native to the planet Kinyen, though they had colonies across the galaxy, including settlements on the planets Hok and Malastare.

Gran could easily be identified by their three eyes and their goat-like snout.Female Gran also had three breasts. Gran were also able to sense one another's emotions and disposition by noting subtle changes in body heat and skin color. The Gran had excellent vision, able to resolve more colors than most species, and even able to see into the infrared. Gran had two stomachs, having evolved from herbivorous grazing animals who lived in herds on the mountains and highlands of Kinyen, surviving on the local goatgrass, for which Gran kept their taste. Gran chewed and digested their food quite slowly, savoring the flavor carefully. A single meal could take almost an entire day to finish, but a Gran would often not need to eat for several days afterwards.

A recessive genetic mutation sometimes caused some Gran to suffer from misshapen extremities, with hands and feet swelling to abnormal sizes. While not affecting the individual's ability to do finer work, the handicap nonetheless often resulted in social isolation. Gran scientists intently studied the trait to attempt to find a cure.

The Herglics, alternatively known as Koodans, were a species native to the planet Giju. They were water-based mammals and developed hyperdrive and a trade-based empire in the Colonies Region before encountering the Duros. Herglics were pleasant and peaceful, but they had an addiction to gambling and games of chance. Herglics were a very large species and were sensitive about their size.

Herglics were large bipeds that appeared to have evolved from water-dwelling mammals. Most of the evidence of their water borne ancestry had been bred out so that, for example, fins and flukes were replaced with arms and legs. They did, however, still breathe through a blowhole on the top of their heads. The hauum sound of a Herglic clearing their blowhole was a common Herglese word throughout the Tapani sector where it was used with emphasis to preface a significant remark.

They were tall, extremely wide, and had smooth, hairless skin that ranged in color from pale blue to black although some, like Hamar-Chaktak, had pale pink skin. A few Herglics, such as the entrepreneur and gambler Narloch, displayed white stripes down the sides of their head and arms.

Herglics were generally quite sensitive about their large size. Since most other sentient species in the galaxy were smaller than they were and most facilities were designed to accommodate Human dimensions, Herglics tended to feel somewhat self-conscious and out of place when removed from their community or their ships. Their bulky size meant that typically a Herglic would take up two seats in a restaurant and the majority of doorways required some maneuvering. Despite this they were typically easygoing in nature and enjoyed meeting new people and visiting exotic locations.

Humans were the galaxy's most numerous and politically dominant sentient species with millions of major and minor colonies galaxy-wide. Believed to have originated on the galactic capital of Coruscant, they could be found anywhere, engaged in many different pursuits: spacers, mercenaries, smugglers, merchants, soldiers, assassins, farmers, crime lords, laborers, slaves, slavers, and many others, including Jedi. Since Humans were the most common sentient species, they were often considered to be a standard or average to which the biology, psychology, and culture of other species were compared.

Humans gain no bonuses or penalties to ability scores, and they start off knowing only the language 'basic'. They do receive one extra skill point each level and start off with an extra feat as well.

The Hutts were a species of large gastropods with stubby arms, wide cavernous mouths
and huge eyes, who controlled a large space empire in Hutt Space. The species was said
to originally hail from the planet Varl, but no planet by that name appeared on an
Imperial star charts. Their adopted homeworld was Nal Hutta. Members of this species
were stereotyped as crime lords.

Ithorians were a mammalian herbivorous sentient species from the planet Ithor. They were commonly called "Hammerheads" by less sensitive beings because of their long, curving neck and T-shaped head. They found this nickname offensive.

Ithorians had two mouths and four throats, allowing them to speak in stereo. Female Ithorians had two humps on the back of their head, while males had only one. They had glossy, usually brown flesh. They stood roughly between 1.8 to 2.3 meters from eyestalk to toe. Their reflexes and coordination were somewhat slower than that of average humanoids.

In addition to allowing them to speak their unique stereophonic language, the Ithorians' four throats also had the ability to violently expel air, resulting in a deafening and potentially concussive scream. Although even common Ithorians possessed this strange talent, those with Force training (such as Jedi Master Roron Corobb) could push enough power into their sonic bellow to shatter iron and shred plasteel. Despite this fact, most Ithorians went their entire lives without ever resorting to violence, and so the ability remained relatively ambiguous.

Ithorian youths were known as "pupa," and were commonly glassy-eyed, appendageless and limber, until they metamorphosized. After the molt, Ithorians lost an aural flap and every locomotion tube, gained lumps, craters in their craniums and an appetite for ant-flies. An adult Ithorian could father several thousand offspring.

Jawas are typically short rodent-like natives of Tatooine, immediately recognizable by their glowing yellow eyes and brown hooded robes. They are notorious scavengers, seeking out anything that may be of value to sell or trade. They travel in their huge sandcrawler transports peroidically visiting settlements to sell their second hand goods.

The Kel Dors, sometimes referred to as Kel Dorians, were a species hailing from the technological planet Dorin. They required masks to protect them when in oxygen-rich atmospheres. They were also known for the unique Force-using traditions of the Baran Do Sages. The Kel Dors were a tall race, typically of the same height and weight as black eyes, although some were born with silver irises, a mark that was often seen as an affinity for the Force. Kel Dors were, as a whole, considered an unattractive species due to their
strange facial structure. Their noses were described as falling short of becoming a beak, with a gaping opening that descended to the mouth, a toothless chasm with drooping fleshy strands. In place of teeth, Kel Dor had an upper and lower hard-palate, visible only when they pulled their lips back. Framing their head were extrasensory organs which terminated in small black tusks. Their skin ranged in color from peach to a crimson red.

Members of the sentient alien species known as Kushibans were four-limbed lagomorphs. Their bodies were commonly half a meter long, but reach one meter, as exemplified by Kushiban Jedi Master Ikrit, was not uncommon. Like many smaller species, they were physically weaker than most humanoids, but they were also a difficult target due to their small size They were also nimble, quick and stealthy when needed.

While Kushibans were quadrupeds, their foremost paws could be used as manipulative hands, allow a Kushiban to open a door, to hold an object, or to beat its chest while standing on its other legs. Indeed, Kushibans could walk on two legs, but they were faster when running or ramming on fours, and tended to walk on fours as default choice. A Kushiban could also leap, reaching the shoulder of an eleven-year-old human, the upper dome of an R2 unit, or the frame of a window, and they could also climb through steep walls or through the body of a friendly humanoid.

The face of a Kushiban, which had apelike features, included a keen small snout, but was dominated by its big, innocent-looking, round eyes, with eyelids protuded for several centimeter. Kushibans were known to wink eyes and to ennervantly watch people while silently waiting for the other person to talk. The eye color, in the case of Jedi Master Ikrit, could change to mimic the eye color of the person the Kushiban was looking at or becoming a whirpool if the Kushiban was not looking at anyone at the moment. Ikrit's eyes were known to be bright, except during the end of his life, and Human Jedi Tionne Solusar recognized in them curiosity and intelligence.

Due to the fur, short height and long ears of the Kushibans, other people tended to take them for pets or vermins. By looking helpless and cute, a Kushiban could trick even a Jedi community so that he could be considered the pet of a person instead of an intelligent person.

The Lepi are an omnivorous humanoid Species resembling anthropomorphic rabbits. They possess a heightened metabolism such that they are always in motion, giving some an air of fidgetiness.

Lepi are proud and closely tied to their large families. They are quick-witted, gregarious, and often quite humorous, but they anger easily and do not abide insults to their families or to their Species.

Lepi are bipedal lagomorphs with large incisors, long ears, lanky frames, and big feet. Lepi are covered in short fur that varies in color from green to dark blue. Adult males average 1.9 meters tall, while adult females average 1.6 meters tall.

The Miraluka are a humanoid, Force-sensitive species. Their language was
Miralukese, although some, like Visas Marr and the Dark Jedi Jerec, preferred
Basic. The Miraluka are a humanoid species that differed from Humans in that
they lacked eyes, only retaining vestigial eye sockets, and perceived the
environment around them through Force sight instead of regular vision. This
vision was so strong that if a Miraluka looked upon a Jedi or Sith, they
could "see" Force radiating off them. The strength of a Miraluka's
connection to the Force varied by individual.

The Mirialan people were religious and practiced a primitive understanding of
the Force. They believed each individual's actions contributed to their destiny.
A Mirialan would place a unique, often geometrically repeated tattoo on their
face and hands to signify that they had completed a certain test or task, or
achieved sufficient aptitude for a certain skill. The number of tattoos would
thus often act as a good indicator of how mature and/or skilled a Mirialan was.

The Mon Calamari (also known as Calamari, Calamarians, Mon Cal, Mon Calamarians, or rarely Mon Cala) were one of the sentient species indigenous to the world of Dac.

On average, a member of the species stood between 1.3 to 1.8 meters tall and also smelled of salt and the sea. They were a fish-like amphibious humanoid species with salmon-colored skin, webbed hands, high-domed heads and huge, fish-like eyes. They were equally capable of breathing both on land and in water with them being at home in either environment. Male Mon Calamari had protrusions on their chin called "barbels" which grew more numerous with age. Most Mon Calamari had salmon-colored skin, often mottled with light and dark patterns, though examples of other skin colors were known. The Mon Calamari are able to descend to depths of up to 30 meters below sea level without requiring breathing or pressure apparatus. Though they can breathe water, they find it somewhat uncomfortable, and use organic gills whenever possible. Mon Calamari could stay underwater for an indefinite period of time, although a frightened Mon Calamari, particularly a juvenile, could drown underwater. They also did not need to decompress when resurfacing. They tended to smell of salt and sea giving them a particular identifiable odor.

Their hands, apart from being webbed, also featured five claw-tipped fingers; one opposable thumb with two more shorter claw-like protrusions, two long middle fingers, and two extremely short outer fingers. As an additional feature, Mon Calamari hands also presented three suction-cup like holes on their palms. Mon Calamari could swivel their eyes independently from one another, focusing on two areas at once. Mon Calamari saw in different wavelengths than Humans, making it difficult for one species to view visuals designed for the other and vice versa. Their eyes were often used to express emotion; staring with the left eye was a way of showing surprise, while staring with the right eye was either a challenge to fight or an expression of love, depending on the circumstances.

The Mrlssi or Mrlssti of Mrlsst in the Tapani sector were a species renowned throughout the sector as scholars and scientists.

Mrlssi were flightless avian humanoids, less than one meter tall on average. Their bodies were covered in gray feathers, while their head was bare except for a fringe of feathers covering the back of their head. Their head feathers were brown in young Mrlssi, but became more colorful with age.

Mrlssi should not be confused with the Mriss of Mrisst, in the GaTir system, who were also a small, scholarly race of flightless birds.

When they spoke in their native language, it was considered very musical. However, when they vocalized in Basic, many species found it grating. Mrlssi were not very adventurous and were rarely found off their home planet. When they did travel, they did so with a specific purpose and destination and quickly returned home. They were quick-witted and very curious and valued knowledge more than material possessions. Mrlssi figured themselves as great humorists, as humor was a key part of their societal structure. Despite this, offworlders tended to find Mrlssi humor to be complex and unintelligible. Common names within the Mrlssi culture included Crlisst Herssek, Kepor Dagwa, Krsslbel Waray, Pagda Luwa, and Virssl Jasst.

Mustafarians were an insectoid sentient species native to the volcanic planet Mustafar. They were divided into two subspecies: the taller, thinner northern Mustafarians, and a smaller, stockier, and hardier southern Mustafarians.

An insectoid sentient species, the two subspecies of Mustafarians had different physiologies as well as different roles in their society. The northern Mustafarians were significantly taller than their cousins and physically weaker. Because of their frail physiology, those who served as sentries commonly had their limbs enhanced with cybernetic prosthetics.

The southern Mustafarians were stronger and shorter in stature than their northern cousins. They handled the "heavy lifting" jobs of the their planet's lava mining, and could withstand higher temperatures than northerners. Since they spent more time near the lava, they wore breath masks and thick armor to compensate.

There were similarities between the two subspecies, though. Both were hard-shelled arthropods with long snouts and insectoid eyes. Their exoskeletons lay in plates over leathery skin, serving as protection from the heat they experienced on Mustafar. Unlike most species of the galaxy, they had very little water in their bodies.

The Nautolans, sometimes referred to as the Nautiloids, were an amphibious humanoid species from the planet Glee Anselm. Although they established settlements across their aquatic homeworld, most Nautolan civilization was found in the Sabilon region. The most well known Nautolan was Jedi Master Kit Fisto, a hero of the Clone Wars and member of the Jedi Council.

Nautolans possessed physiology common to amphibious species, including low light vision and excellent swimming skills. Their bony endoskeleton and dense cartilage made them tough and resistant to glancing blows. An egg-laying species, Nautolans emerged from their egg as a tadpole that developed arms, legs, and head-tails during their second year of life. Roughly the same size as a Human infant during this time, their limbs were weak and unable to support their weight, forcing youthful Nautolans to remain in aquatic environments for much of their childhood. They stood an average of 1.8 meters, had smooth green, blue, purple, or brown skin, and large black or dark maroon eyes with lids that were seldom used. They were capable of breathing underwater; however, unlike other water-based species, Nautolans did not experience difficulties out of water.

Nautolans possessed exceptional olfactory and pheromone-sensing skills, enhanced by head-tresses. These tendrils were used to detect the emotional state of another being, but were most effective underwater. Within Nautolan culture, the ability to sense pheromone changes was an essential part of the communication process. All Nautolans had fourteen sensory tentacles and multiple hearts, which were capable of beating separately. Like their sense of smell, Nautolan language was also maximized for use underwater and not fully pronounceable in a gaseous atmosphere. Because of the loss in linguistic detail, most Nautolans chose to speak Anselmian or Galactic Basic when traveling off-world. In addition, Nautolans used other communicative cues when submerged, such as reading the swirls in other Nautolans' large eyes.

Neimoidians were a species of humanoids that were distant genetic relatives of Duros. They were native to the planet of Neimoidia and also lived on colony worlds in the same sector like Cato Neimoidia, Deko Neimoidia, and Koru Neimoidia. Neimoidians placed tremendous value on wealth and material possessions, and would go to great lengths to gain money and power, resulting in a stereotype of being greedy and cowardly; however, they were very easily intimidated, and hated combat.

In the years prior to the Clone Wars, the Neimoidians became infamous for running the Trade Federation, a massive corporate entity. Famous Neimoidians included Nute Gunray and Rune Haako, high ranking members of the Trade Federation who later joined the Confederacy of Independent Systems, a separatist movement which waged war on the Galactic Republic. This proved to be their species' undoing: Neimoidia and its colonies were blockaded and invaded by the Republic in the war's final year, destroying many Neimoidian grub-hatcheries and catastrophically affected the long-term survival of the species. Thereafter, the Neimoidians faded from prominence in galactic affairs.

Since the Neimoidians were distant genetic relatives of the Duros, they retained many similarities to them, including basic form, noseless faces, and green-blue skin (though Neimoidians tended to be grayer). Their eyes also had pupils that split horizontally, and they were distinguished by small lumps on their foreheads and down-turned mouths. Their sense of smell came from glands under their eyes. These genetic differences were attributed to the distinct features of their homeworld, Neimoidia, including its gravity, which was heavier than Duro. Additionally, the planet's star was dimmer, and the planet itself was humid and widely shrouded by fog and mist.

Neimoidian skin often took on a mottled look if the being was too self-indulgent or often prone to great stress, such as Nute Gunray. A Neimoidian's lung pods would expand and contract convulsively under great stress, leading to an old saying characterizing Neimoidians as the only sentient species with an entire organ devoted to worrying. Nauseated Neimoidians' skin turned pink. The Neimoidians had five fingers and two clawlike toes.

Many Duros took great offense at being compared to their Neimoidians cousins. In the TriPlanetary Press reference source known as the Encyclopedia Galactica, the entry for Neimoidian read, "See: Duros". The classic example of what not to say detailed an employer for a shipping company who was curious as to why a Neimoidian would be applying for a pilot's position when it was, in actuality, a Duros. The reason for the offense is obvious: Neimoidians tended to be cowardly, greedy, and fearful of death, while Duros were an adventurous, gregarious, and peaceful race.

Nelvaanians, also referred to as Nelvaans, are a species of tribal humanoids from the planet Nelvaan. They are a primitive Species, using only crude technology. Male Nelvaanians are responsible for hunting game and protecting the tribe, while females are responsible for the day-to-day affairs of their tribe, which includes raising cubs.

At the top of the Nelvaanian tribe is the chief, who rules with the help of his mate and a shaman. A tribal chief is not chosen by trial, nor is he elected to his position. Instead, the chief's ascension is determined by the grace of the "Great Mother" and is established through a show of mutual admiration and respect among the entire tribe. Religion and spirituality are the center of Nelvaanian society. Elders are revered, as are mothers of all ages.

During the Clone Wars, male Nelvaanians are abducted by the Techno Union and subjected to extensive physiological and genetic manipulation in an attempt to create a race of mutant warriors. The experiments are partially successful, turing the males of the Species into monstrous versions of their former selves. However, the experiments are stopped by Anakin Skywalker, and the modified Nelvaanians reunite with their tribes.

Nelvaanians gain +2 to wisdom and dexterity, and +2 to the following skills: Perception, Survival, Initiative and Athletics.

Widely recognized as a slave species of the Hutts, the Nikto have served their masters since before the founding of The Old Republic, proving to be cunning warriors in the Hutts' battle with the legendary conqueror Xim the Despot. Wherever the Hutts are, the Nikto are never far behind. Because of their homeworld's radioactive atmosphere, the Nikto have five distinct subspecies, each adapted to a specific type of terrain (See Nikto Survival Feat).

Personality: Although lacking in personal charisma, Nikto posses a single-minded tenacity that makes them excellent followers. Eons of enslavement by the Hutts have left them more comfortable with taking orders from their masters than with thinking on their feet.

Physical Description: Tough, leathery skin and a lack of extensive facial muscles limit the range of Nikto facial expression. Their deep black eyes further enhance their reptilian appearance. A Nikto's subspecies can be determined by his or her skin tone and the presence of small spikes or horns.

Average Height/Weight: A typical Nikto stands at 1.8 meters tall and weighs 60 kilograms.

Noghri were a primitive humanoid species. They had steely gray or blue skin, and were extremely skilled assassins due to their abilities in stealth and hand-to-hand combat. Despite their small size, they were efficient killing machines, with claws, fangs and a sense of smell so acute, they could smell one's bloodline. They were much like the Wookiee species culturally, in that they respected honor above all else. Noghri society was clan-based, revolving around the dukha, or community building, at the center of each village.

The Nosaurians were a sentient, bipedal, reptilian species native to the planet New Plympto in the Core Worlds. A Nosaurian was easily recognized by a row of long horns, a covering of tough scales, and a beakful of sharp teeth. Members of the species had the ability to produce a brief flash of light from inside their mouths, a knack they used for silent, long-distance communication. Nosaurians were colorblind, although few found this bothersome.

Their language's phonemes consisted of hisses, barks, and warbles, and its syntax commonly used metaphors related to weather, nature, and the seasons. They were capable of speaking Basic yet generally chose not to. When on their homeworld, they had an inexplicable ability to tell when the sun was setting and an overwhelming urge to "sing it down" by braying. This behavior persisted offworld, but the disturbance in a Nosaurian's internal rhythms often brought it on at inopportune times with no real tie to New Plympto's day-night cycle.

Nosaurians were naturally even-tempered. However, a long history of what they viewed as marginalization and exploitation at the hands of Humans left them bitter and angry. This began soon after the Nosaurians met their first offworlders, the Corellians. These Human neighbors became enmeshed in New Plympto's trade of rikknit eggs, a valuable component in ji rikknit and other recreational substances. As the rikknit population on New Plympto plummeted and the Galactic Republic imposed sanctions on the trade, the economy crumbled. The Nosaurians saw little choice but to join the Confederacy of Independent Systems. After the group's defeat in the Clone Wars, the Nosaurians tried to carry on the fight, only to be crushed by the 501st Legion and enslaved by the Galactic Empire. Decades later, when they opposed an invasion by beings known as Yuuzhan Vong, the aggressors unleashed a deadly virus on their homeworld and rendered it uninhabitable.

Nosaurians who made their names on New Plympto included the resistance leaders General Rootrock and Fefar Blackeye. However, economic hardship and enslavement forced many Nosaurians to emigrate over the centuries. Some gravitated toward thrill-seeking professions, as exemplified by the podracer pilot Clegg Holdfast. Others drifted among the galactic fringe, as in the case of Bomo Greenbark, who left his homeworld searching for his family after the end of the Clone Wars.

A protocol droid was a type of droid designed to assist sentients in their relations with one another and were programmed mostly for etiquette, and were often used as translators between sentients or between sentients and computers. Protocol droids were generally designed to look like the sentients they would be serving; for example 3PO-series protocol droids were designed to look Humanoid.

They also possessed knowledge about various cultures and customs, in order to advise those for whom they are working, and also so that they themselves may behave in a diplomatic and culturally sensitive manner.

The Quarren or Qarren, were one of several aquatic sentient species from the planet Dac, called by off-worlders Mon Calamari. The Quarren shared their homeworld with the Mon Calamari, another sentient species hailing from Dac. The Quarren had many conflicts and a tense relationship with the Mon Calamari. However, in order to make their planet prosperous, they were forced to provide resources from the ocean depths so that the Mon Calamari could build star ships for off-worlders. Biology and appearance Quarren were aquatic humanoids with squid-like heads, at least four tentacles on their faces, and leathery skin. Quarren tentacles were prehensile, and they were able to manipulate food with them. Quarren had small mouths, with two fang-like teeth jutting from their faces on either side, and a long, thin tongue sticking out in between. Quarren had two long protrusions that extended from either side of their faces. In these protrusions were several gill-like structures that were actually aural structures, used for hearing instead of ears.Quarren also had holes on either sides of their neck that were most likely used for breathing. Quarren had two sac-like organs that hung from the back of their heads as well.

The Rattataki were a Near-Human species characterized by their chalk-white skin and bald heads. Virtually isolated from the rest of the galaxy, the Rattataki developed a violent society on their home planet of Rattatak, which involved extensive gladiatoral combat. Warrior Aidus and criminal Kaliyo Djannis were both Rattataki. Aurra Sing may also have been part Rattataki. The Nightsister and Dark Acolyte named Asajj Ventress was generally thought to be a Rattataki, while in fact she was a similar Zabrak Human hybrid species called Dathomirian.

Rodians were a reptilian humanoid species native to Rodia in the Tyrius system. Highly recognizable due to characteristics in facial structure and skin pigment, Rodians were infamous for their violent culture, which sprang from the difficulties of life in the jungles of their homeworld. Though they were often relegated to the fringes of galactic society as bounty hunters or criminal henchmen, Rodians were not merely simple-minded thugs. The Rodian people managed to produce artists, merchants, and politicians who were found even among the upper classes of the Core Worlds.

Biology and appearance

The Rodians were green-skinned humanoids from the planet Rodia. They possessed distinctive faces; large, round, multifaceted eyes, tapir-like snouts, and a pair of saucer-shaped antennae on their heads, which served to detect vibrations. Rodian skin normally had a rough, pebbly texture, except on their hands and snouts. The flexible snouts augmented the Rodians finely-tuned olfactory senses, collecting and filtering the air. Their characteristically large eyes were indicative of a primarily-nocturnal ancestry and were capable of seeing into the infra-red spectrum. This allowed the Rodians to visually detect the body heat of their hidden prey emanating from within the darkness. Due to their love of fighting and active lifestyles, most Rodians kept in good condition, normally lean and wiry. However, some corpulent Rodians became rather obese, typically those that could hire others to fight for them.

The Sith, known alternatively as Red Sith or Sith Purebloods, were a species of redskinned
Humanoids that originated on the world of Korriban, before eventually resettling on the
ice-world of Ziost. Also distinct for their bone spurs, facial tentacles, and genetic
predispositions toward both lefthandedness and the dark side of the Force, the Sith
species coalesced into an empire ruled first by kings known as Sith'ari, and later by
Dark Lords. Despite a society dominated by barbarism and infighting, Sith civilization
culminated in a Golden Age, after which the species was all but scattered across the
galaxy. An eponymous dark side tradition took the species' name, one that, despite numerous
manifestations over time, maintained foundations borne of the customs, science and
magic practiced by the ancient Sith species.

Sullustans were a species of humanoids from Sullust. As skilled pilots and
navigators, Sullustans, also known as Bomewrights, were common sights for
spacers and at busy spaceports. The Sullustans played an important role in the
Galactic Civil War and were charter members of the New Republic. Notable members
of the species include Nien Nunb and Ten Numb.
Biology and appearance
A diminutive species of near-Humans, Sullustans ranged from 1 to 1.8 meters in
height and bore round, tapered skulls. Sullustans were distinguishable for their
almond-shaped black eyes, facial jowls called dewflaps and large, round ears.

Talz were large, bipedal creatures, averaging 2 to 2.5 meters tall. Bulky creatures, they were covered head to toe in thick white fur, which provided exceptional insulation against their frozen world. Talz had four eyes, which were also adaptations to their native environment. The larger set of eyes were shut during the day, when sunlight reflected off the snow with dazzling brightness -able to blind sensitive optical organs, leaving the smaller set to navigate with. Alternatively, during the deep darkness of their homeworld's moonless night, the larger pair were utilized to provide the Talz with adequate vision.

Talz used a small proboscis to eat and communicate, using a language of high-pitched chirps and buzzes, with variable pitch an essential feature. Their language was known as Talz or Talzzi.

Talz had extremely large hands, sporting a set of sharp-clawed talons, which tended to make others think twice before getting into a brawl with a Talz. Despite these fierce claws, most Talz were gentle and kind-hearted creatures. They were diligent and tireless workers. As a society, Talz were still a primitive species who had barely evolved sentience by the time the Galactic Empire discovered them. Talz were limited users of tools, constructing primitive shelters to further protect them from the icy cold climate though they still understood basic technological concepts like blaster fire and speeders. Their psychology and societal relationships, however, were very complex-based on clans and extended families-with sophisticated mechanisms for redistribution of resources to provide the greatest benefit for the species. The Talz had no concept of ownership, and instead "borrowed" objects from neighbors if needed, or gave away objects they did not own. Many non-Talz deemed them to be thieves as a result. For this reason, non-Talz who worked with them kept all objects and tools under lock and key. Many people who worked with Talz thought that trying to teach them the meaning of ownership was a wasted effort.

The Taung were an ancient species of Humanoid simians. Indigenous to the galactic Core World of Coruscant, the two-meter-tall, gray-skinned Taungs were warriors from youth, and viewed battle as a source of honor both for the individual and their gods. Famous for their struggles against the Human Battalions of Zhell-prehistoric Coruscant's other major power-the Taung waged war against their enemies for hundreds of years. When a powerful volcano erupted and devastated the Zhell, spewing ash into the sky with such density it blocked out the light of Coruscant's sun, the Taung labeled themselves the "Warriors of the Shadow", or Dha Werda Verda in their language. Despite their loss, the Zhell eventually managed to drive the Taung from Coruscant, and the defeated Taung fled to the planet Roon, located in the Outer Rim. There they remained for millennia, until legendary Mandalore the First led the Taung to conquer a new world which they named Mandalore in honor of their leader, and the Taung subsequently recast themselves as the Mandalorians or Mando'ade-"Sons and Daughters of Mandalore".

As the newly entitled Mandalorians, the Taung set out to conquer the worlds around their new home, their nomadic nature and worship of war driving them crusading outward as they increased their territory. Under the rule of Mandalore the Indomitable, another Taung warlord following in the leadership tradition established by Mandalore the First, the Taung began to take in beings of other species into their culture, transforming what it meant to be Mandalorian forever after. This willing acceptance of other beings peaked during the Mandalorian Wars, when Mandalore the Ultimate led the Mandalorians on a campaign against the military forces of the Galactic Republic. Though initially victorious, the intervention of the Jedi Knight Revan and his loyal Jedi followers turned the tide of the war against the Mandalorians, culminating with the devastation of the planet Malachor V. The Taung race had suffered heavy losses during the war, and by its end, were generally believed to have drifted into extinction, survived by the legacy of the Mandalorian culture they had passed on, that remembered the Taung as the Progenitors.

A Humanoid species, the Taung were a bipedal race of sentient simians. Gray-skinned and yellow-eyed, Taungs were typically tall and strong. On average, Taung reached a height of two meters, and weighed around ninety-five kilograms. Physically, Taung were extremely resilient, and could endure hardships many other species were unable to. Their five fingers were tipped with sharp claws, and bony ridges adorned the top of their skulls. Taung lifespans were known to reach and occasionally exceed eighty-five years. Considered children until the age of six, Taung attained adulthood when they turned thirteen, passed through middle age between the years of forty-six and sixty-four, and were viewed as elderly beyond the age of sixty-five. Galactic historical records document no known instances of Taungs with a sensitivity to the Force.

Each Thakwaash had many different personalities, each performing some specialized function. This was their normal mental state and was not considered a psychosis, as it would be in a Human. As they grew older and developed, they usually discovered more "minds," and gradually improved upon their skill in switching between them. These personalities had various abilities and skills, behaviors, and views on life. These could include an undisciplined yet skilled pilot, a calm and polite socializer, an arrogant, elitist mind, an insane one (which only caused slight problems, since they could still switch to other "minds"), and others. This ability also helped them figure out how others would think, increasing their ability to imitate their target's writings or thought processes.

They also possessed, on average, three times the strength of an average human male. For instance, Hohass Ekwesh was capable of killing a man weighing 130 kilograms by "casually" swinging him into a wall, one-handed. They are also usually very tall at an average height of three meters.

The Togorian people were a feline warrior species native to the planet Togoria. They were known for their association with the Mandalorians, and the unique cultural divisions between their sexes. Both male and female Togorians were also noted for their strong sense of honor.

As a species, they were large bipeds, with retractable claws on their hands and feet. Female Togorians were up to 2.2 meters tall, while adult males ranged up to 3.0 meters. They were covered in gray-white to black fur, often with more colorful spots or stripes. They had extremely dense bone tissue, allowing them to endure greater physical trauma than beings with similar physiques.

Togorians evolved as nomadic hunters of creatures like the bist and etelo. In turn, flying reptiles called liphons preyed upon the Togorians. Primitive Togorians noticed that slightly smaller flying reptiles, mosgoths, were also targeted by liphons who attacked their nests and stole their eggs. Togorians began camping near the mosgoths for mutual protection, eventually domesticating them as mounts. Soon, a rift in their society developed-while males wanted to continue their lifestyle as nomads, females wanted the comfort and safety of permanent camps. In other species, the conflict would have led to one lifestyle winning over the other, but both male and female Togorians were too stubborn.

Eventually, the males continued their nomadic ways, riding their mosgoths and hunting, and competing in contests of prowess. Meanwhile, the females stayed in villages with pre-pubescent children, with those communes eventually growing into cities. While the males continued to hunt in the wilderness, the females tended domesticated herds and developed technology. Males would visit their mates for about a month each year, but the sexes lived completely separate lives otherwise. Whether in spite of the separation of the sexes, or because of it, Togorians were monogamous, and devoted to their chosen mates.

The Togruta were a carnivorous humanoid species from the planet Shili. The species exhibited head-tails which were similar to those of Twi'leks. Unlike Twi'leks, a Togurta's lekku ran parallel to the head as opposed to behind, making it appear as though they were wearing a headdress. Togruta were also distinguished by montrals, large hollow horn-like projections from the top of their heads, that gave the species a form of passive echolocation. In order to protect themselves from dangerous predators, and to hunt their own prey, Togruta banded together in tribes and relied on their natural pigmentation to disrupt and confuse slow-witted beasts. Togruta worked well in large groups, and individualism was seen as abnormal within their culture, although it was also a necessary quality in leaders.

Togruta had rusty skin tones ranging in hue from blue to red to green, with white pigmentation on their faces, and greyish lips. While not all have this feature, white stripes also adorned various parts of their bodies, including their chests, legs, backs, arms, lekku (head-tails), and montrals. The pattern of stripes varied from individual to individual. This red and white pattern was a phenotype left over from their ancestor's camouflage that helped them to blend in with their natural surroundings, especially the red-and-white turu-grass which dominated Shili's scrublands. They possessed many human features, such as mammaries.

Their heads bore two montrals, with three, and on rare occasions, four head-tails, whose stripes were darker than those of the montrals. Togruta had the ability to sense the proximity and movement of physical objects around them by means of their hollow montrals, which detected space ultrasonically. Young Togrutas' montrals and posterior head-tail did not fully grow until adolescence, when their montrals become curved and their third head-tail grew to the length of their two main head-tails.

As predators, Togruta had sharp canine teeth, which they used to painlessly kill thimiars, their primary prey, causing the creatures' post-mortem death spasms. This gave outsiders the false impression that Togruta were venomous. However, Togrutas did nothing to dispel this misconception and even took advantage of the intimidating presence it gave them.

Toydarians were a race of winged mammalian beings from the planet Toydaria.
Strong-willed, and resistant to manipulation of the mind through the Force,
this species produced a body odor similar to sweetspice. With a reputation
for being stingy and bad-tempered, many Toydarians were possessed of a
strong sense of pride in their work.

Trandoshans (T'doshok in their language) were large, bipedal reptilian humanoids
from the planet Trandosha (or Dosha). They had super-sensitive eyes that could
see into the infrared range and the ability to regenerate lost limbs, although
very slowly, and were anatomically built heavier and stronger than most
humanoids, including Humans. They would also periodically shed their skin.
Unlike some other reptilian humanoids, such as the Barabels and the Ssi-ruuk,
Trandoshans had no tails.
As a species, they were renowned across the galaxy for great strength. This is
evidenced by several members of other species boasting physical prowess and
power by having defeated a Trandoshan, either in battle or in a contest of
strength.
Biology and appearance
Trandoshans were a large, bipedal sentient species, with scaly skin which ranged
in color from sandy brown to glossy green, which was shed roughly once every
standard year. Cold-blooded reptiles, Trandoshans had two super-sensitive varied
color eyes with horizontal black pupils, which could see far into the infrared
range. Trandoshans could regenerate lost limbs and skin until they reached their
Middle Ages around fifty-four standard years. Each of their four limbs ended in
three razor sharp claws, which although perfect for combat, they did not grant
them manual dexterity, making a Trandoshan's finger movements somewhat clumsy
and awkward. Though physically powerful, they were outmatched by their rivals,
the Wookiees, in unarmed combat.

The Trianii were an advanced, adventurous felinoid species that inhabited the outermost portion of the Tingel Arm bordering the Corporate Sector. Their homeworld was Trian.

Their general form was in some ways similar to the Togorians, Cathar, and Catuman Warriors (indeed, many Trianii that were found on other worlds were mistaken for the aforementioned species), and like them, Trianii had excellent balance and eyesight, and a talent for leaping, jumping, and acrobatics. Unlike most other feline species, however, Trianii had prehensile tails. They had fur, which could come in a variety of colors and patterns. Adult Trianii averaged two meters in height.

Trianii females were generally stronger than their male counterparts, as well as being more dexterous and mindful of artistic values. For this reason, tribunals of females called yu'nar governed their society. Trianii culture was organized around their religious beliefs, with dance, art, music, literature, and even industry and commerce all revolving around spirituality. At one time, the Trianii had many different religions, but the leaders of these different faiths all agreed upon a specific moral code of conduct and brought together a religious coalition that lasted for thousands of years. Most Trianii were still active in the traditional faith of their families, though, and all religious figures were held in great regard.

The Trianii usually wore no clothing, except when it was needed for utility or protection. The one common garment of the species was a belt, used to carry tools, weapons, or other items. Ceremonial garb was usually limited to jewelry, ribbons, and other such adornments.

Tusken Raiders were a species native to the desert world of Tatooine. Their homeworld's harsh environment resulted in them being extremely xenophobic & territorial of their native resources, often attacking the outskirts of smaller settlements such as Anchorhead. The Sand People believed that all water was sacred and promised to them, resulting in them raiding moisture farms set up by colonists. Additionally, Tusken Raiders harvested black melons which grew in the Jundland Wastes, providing them with a reliable source of milk.

Tusken clan groups consisted of 20 to 30 individuals, and were led by clan leaders, tribal chiefs, and warlords. The Sand People communicated in a language known as Tusken. At the age of 15, a Tusken became an adult, and had to slay a krayt dragon and cut out the precious pearl found in its stomach. Tuskens inhabited encampments scattered across an area of the rocky Jundland Wastes known as The Needles, which were guarded from intruders by vicious massiffs.

Male Tusken Raiders were the warriors of their clans, often attacking vulnerable travelers that were unfortunate enough to wander through their territory. They wielded gaderffii sticks in combat, and used Tusken Cyclers to fire on vehicles they spotted. Every Tusken warrior created their own gaderffii stick, making each one unique. Males wore rough wrappings and garments that provided protection and allowed ease of movement. Females could be distinguished by their elaborate jeweled masks with eyeslits and torso-covering sand-shrouds. Tusken children wore unisex cowls and simple cloaks, and couldn't dress like males or females until they reached adulthood. All Sand People wore mouth grilles and eye coverings to retain moisture and keep sand out. They were forbidden to remove their clothing in front of others, except at childbirth, on their wedding night, and at coming-of-age ceremonies.

Twi'leks, sometimes referred to disparagingly as "Tail-heads", were an omnivorous humanoid species originating from the planet Ryloth. They tended to eat cultivated molds, fungi, and rycrit meat. Their distinctive features included colorful skin, which varied in pigment from individual to individual, and a pair of shapely prehensile tentacles that grew from the base of their skulls. The tentacles, called "brain-tails", "lekku", "tchun-tchin", or "head-tails" were advanced organs used for communication and cognitive functions. Twi'leks possessed a fairly standard humanoid vocal structure and were capable of learning most alien languages; however, they usually preferred their native language of Ryl, which incorporated subtle movement of the lekku. When they wished, they could even communicate in complete secrecy using their versatile brain-tails. Twi'lek females were often used as slaves or dancers because of their beauty.

The Twi'leks were a sentient species of mostly hairless mammals. They were humanoid in form, with two legs and two arms.

Males had humanoid ears, and among females there was equal biological evidence for humanoid ears and ear "cones". While some headdresses were cultural decoration to denote status, quite a few were originally introduced as "muzzles" to prevent the slaves from having access to a language that non-Twi'lek handlers could not understand.

Both males and females have little to no body hair, with the only notable exception being eyelashes to aid in keeping out the sand and heat of Ryloth. Females typically had painted eyebrows or had their eyebrows tattooed on, in order to appear more palatable and less alien to more base-line humanoid offworlders. Boc Aseca had body hair under the armpits and on his chest, though it is unknown whether this was the result of some genetic mutation, a rare subspecies, or something else

Female Twi'leks have been considered especially attractive and slender, which made them favorite subjects for slavery and entertainment. The beauty of female Twi'leks was well known throughout the galaxy, and as a result many young Twi'leks were sold into slavery, becoming dancers or status symbols, most notably by Jabba Desilijic Tiure.

The Twi'leks were omnivores. This diet was essential given that food was scarce on their homeworld, Ryloth. Twi'leks possessed multiple stomachs, an unusual trait that enabled them to eat almost any food. When traveling off their homeworld, Twi'leks rarely refused food, which frequently led to obesity among starfarers. Twi'lek society also associated obesity as a sign of affluence and success. In the case of obese Twi'leks, ear flaps enlarged to store fat.

Although unsubstantiated, some in the New Republic speculated about a possible relation between the Yevetha and Twi'leks.

Verpine were thin bipedal insectoids, standing 1.9 meters tall on average. Unlike many
insectoids, including the Kibnon to which they were distantly related, the Verpine had
only four limbs (two arms and two legs), though there were instances of Verpine growing
vestigial wings. Their heads were dominated by large compound eyes. They also had two
antennae, one located behind each eye. Their hardened carapace, composed of a green
chitinous substance called carahide, was as flexible as the skin of other creatures,
yet tough enough to deflect a blade or even absorb a glancing blaster bolt.

Whiphids were tall, muscled, furred sentient beings from the planet Toola.
They were notable for their great tusks. On Toola, Whiphids lived a primitive
lifestyle, hunting caraboose and other large animals, such as the motmot, their
favored prey. Their language consisted of approximately six thousand words. As
Whiphids came into contact with more technically advanced races that came to
Toola to buy ice, they began to show great curiosity about the rest of the
galaxy. Many Whiphids left Toola, supporting themselves as big game hunters,
mercenaries, or bounty hunters.

The Wookiees, whose name for themselves translated to the People of the Trees,
were a species of hairy bipedal humanoids that were inhabitants of the planet
Kashyyyk.

Biology and appearance
The Wookiees' natural habitat was the dense forests of the planet Kashyyyk
(though one source does contend that they were immigrants to this planet).
Kashyyyk was covered with massive wroshyr trees, in which the Wookiees
constructed their homes and cities. Reportedly, Wookiees were descended from
tree-climbing mammals.
They had the ability to easily learn most languages. However, Wookiees lacked
the vocal structure to speak anything other than their own languages.
Adult Wookiees were tall, in excess of two meters in height, and were covered
with a uniform, mid-length coat of thick hair in various shades of brown.
Although albino Wookiees were rare, they were not unheard of. However, such a
birth was generally held to be a bad omen, as white hair did not blend in with
the earth-tones of their forest surroundings.

The Yarkora were bipedal, anthropomorphic beings resembling cameloids. They hailed from an unknown desert world in the Outer Rim[4], and were rarely seen amongst the galactic populace.

A bipedal mammalian species descended from hoofed ungulates, the Yarkora have evolved into a tall species with immense three-fingered hands, a long snout with wide nostrils, smooth fur, and rough tufts of hair. Speaking a native language and capable of learning and speaking Basic, the Yarkora possessed two stomachs, one for digesting and the other for storing food, and multiple redundant organs that accounted for their longevity. Because of this redundancy, it is rare that a Yarkora would die of natural causes and makes internal injury extremely treatable and non-life threatening.

Having incredible eyesight and hearing abilities, some scientists believe they are also able to project empathetic abilities onto others, possibly identifying the species as highly Force-sensitive. Children were born live, and a mother could only carry one child every fifteen years which caused the species to have relatively few in number.

A very secretive society, the Yarkora that have been spotted in the galaxy have remained tight-lipped as to the location of their planet of origin, and attempts to locate it proved fruitless. When Yarkora were seen, they tended to be rather off-setting and unnerving and found among criminal types. Without representation in the Galactic Republic, the Yarkora remained separate and did not participate in any large part in galactic events.

During the Galactic Civil War, groups of Yarkora helped the Rebel Alliance with counter-espionage, while a few served the Galactic Empire as couriers; others worked as scouts and t'bac farmers. Their presence in the galaxy at large had increased after the formation of the New Republic.

The Yevetha were a lithe, skeletal species indigenous to N'zoth in the Koornacht Cluster, known for their xenophobia and death-centered culture.

Physically, the Yevetha were tall beings that stood on average up to 1.9 meters in height with light gray skin and a ghoulish appearance that was bereft of any body hair. Male and female members of the species were roughly the same height and build with adults standing between 1.5 to 2.5 meters. They were noted as being a mammalian species with a thin, bony humanoid form. They were described as being so gaunt as to seem skeletal due to their pallid gray skin and lithe builds. Their alien physiognomy was noted for being close enough to a humanoid to the point that it was possible to determine their body language due to the similarities. These tall gaunt humanoids had wide set and large black gray eyes. Their black eyes were said to be as expressionless as stones. The backs and necks were both scaled, which was an evolutionary vestige of natural body armor once possessed by the race. Thus, their skin incorporated this vestigial form of armor that went down from their backs to their necks and down their spines.

Amongst the males of the species, there were scarlet facials crests that ran along cheeks, jaws and the tops of their heads. This larger crest ran across the top and down the back of their heads. A males facial crests swelled when they were spurned to violence or combat. The primary head crest became engorged when a male was ready to mate. Female members of the species did not exhibit such features. Yevetha brains were located in their thoraxes where they were protected by thick bone that served as brain cages. They also possessed fine hair cells that ran as indentations along their temples which provided auditory senses. The race possessed six fingered hands that had retractable dew claws. Each one was located on the inside of the wrist above their six-fingered hands. Their dewclaws shot from a sheath of a skin from their cadaverous hands and were capable of being retracted. When extended fully, the wrist blades were equal to the length of a vibroblade. These blades extended to about a foot in length, and were used in close combat and blood sacrifices. The Yevetha also appeared to possess a greater tolerance for g-forces when compared to Human pilots.

The Jedi Master Yoda was the best-known member of a Force-sensitive species
whose true name is not recorded. Known in some sources simply as Yoda's species,
or Yodans, this species of small carnivorous humanoids produced several well-known
members of the Jedi Order during the time of the Galactic Republic.

The name and homeworld of this species remains unknown. Members of the species
were very small, most standing below 70 centimeters, but had extremely long
lifespans lasting many hundreds of years. Adult members of the species were
characterized by sharp, elfin ears, ridges on their foreheads, tridactyl hands
and (most commonly) anisodactyl feet. Their leathery skin and blood were both
light green. Their sharp teeth pointed to a carnivorous diet.

All known members were very wise and had extraordinary Force potential. Yoda,
the most famous member of this species, was the Jedi Grand Master during the
time of the Galactic Republic for over two centuries and one of the most
powerful Jedi in the history of the Order.

The Yuzzem were large, heavy, furred humanoids with long snouts and large black eyes. Their homeworld was the forested planet Ragna III. They were quite strong and temperamental. They fought fiercely, and their large size made them hard to subdue. Yuzzem also adhered to strict codes of honor and debt-fulfillment.

Because of their strength and intelligence, many scientists believed the Yuzzem to be distant relatives of the Wookiees.

During the Separatist Crisis preceding the Clone Wars, at least two Yuzzem guards were in employ of Bossban Soergg Vosadii Bezhin who had strong ties with the Separatists. Afterward, the Confederacy of Independent Systems used them to fight on Aargonar. The Galactic Empire enslaved the species as they had done to the Wookiees and were employed for heavy labor such as mining. However, because of their strength and their ill-temperament, the Imperials had trouble making them work as slaves. The species also had long hangovers due to their massive size.

During their adventures on Mimban searching for the Kaiburr crystal, Luke Skywalker and Princess Leia Organa were helped by two Yuzzem, Hin and Kee. Both were slain by Darth Vader.

In 44 ABY, a Yuzzem Jedi Master, Barratk'l, joined the Jedi High Council.

The Zabrak, also known as Iridonians (when referring to the Zabrak who came
from Iridonia), were a carnivorous humanoid species native to Iridonia,
a planet located in the Mid Rim known for its inhospitable terrain and fierce
predatory life. They were a species known for having a fierce sense of
self-determination and an equally dominant need for independence.
Zabrak resembled Humans to some degree, but had a number of significant
physical characteristics that set them apart from baseline Humanity. The
most striking of these were a series of vestigial horns that crowned the heads
of both males and females.

Another of the traits that made Zabrak instantly recognizable were their facial
tattoos, which were made up of thin lines received during their rite of passage.
These could symbolize many things, including but not limited to family lineage,
place of birth, or even a design that reflected their individual personalities.

Zeltrons were one of the few near-Human races who had differentiated from the
baseline stock enough to be considered a new species of the Human genus, rather
than simply a subspecies. They possessed two biological traits of note. The
first was that they all produce potent pheromones, similar to the Falleen
species, which enhanced their attractiveness and likeability. The second was
a limited telepathic ability, used to project emotions onto others, as well
as allowing them to read and even feel the emotions of others; some Zeltrons
were hired by the Exchange for this ability. Because of their telepathic
ability, positive emotions such as happiness, love and pleasure became very
important to them, while negative ones such as anger, fear, or depression
were shunned.

The Zygerrians were a sentient species of Near-Humans native of the planet Zygerria. Members of the species were medium-sized, standing 1.7 meters tall on average and weighing around sixty kilograms. The Zygerrians were distinguished by a number of bony spurs on their face. The species was well-known for its long history of violence, war, and slavery, which they viewed as a natural order of life. This contributed to the fact that the Zygerrians were feared across the galaxy. The founders of the Zygerrian Slavers Guild, the Zygerrians conducted slaving operations in the Outer Rim Territories for centuries before the Clone Wars. At one point, the species was crushed by the Jedi Order, but they eventually recovered.

During the Clone Wars, the Zygerrians allied with the Confederacy of Independent Systems led by Count Dooku in hopes of expanding their slaver empire. The Confederacy supplied them with the captured Togruta population of the planet Kiros, whom the Zygerrians hoped to sell at an auction. However, misunderstandings between Dooku and the Zygerrian Queen Miraj Scintel led to Scintel's death, while the Togruta were rescued by the Jedi Anakin Skywalker and Obi-Wan Kenobi. During the reign of the Galactic Empire, the Zygerrian slaving business thrived, since slavery was permitted by the Imperial Decree A-SL-4557.607.232. The Zygerrians kept close ties with the Empire, supplying it with slaves and receiving discounts on slaver permits in exchange. Due to the nature of their business, though, the Zygerrians also became targets for Rebel privateers, bounty hunters, and other spacers.

The Zygerrians were a bipedal sentient species, biologically related to baseline Humans. Feline in appearance, the species possessed strong, angular features, with long fangs jutting from their jaws. The Zygerrians' faces and ears were almost entirely covered with fur, which ranged in color from brown to gray or red. Males traditionally had more hair than females, with bands of fur growing on their cheeks. Male Zygerrians also displayed a number of bony spurs protruding from the chin. Females lacked the chin spurs, but they instead had smaller protrusions on their forehead.

With an average lifespan of eighty-one years, the Zygerrians reached adolescence at ten years, were considered adult at seventeen, middle-aged at forty, and old at sixty-one. Medium-sized, they usually grew up to 1.7 meters and weighed around sixty kilograms. They generally had sallow complexions and were physically strong, but some individuals suffered from obesity. The Zygerrians spoke Galactic Basic Standard, with a pronounced accent.
